Equestrian Events Ltd host Equissage Discovery Second Round

  - Equestrian Events Ltd host Equissage Discovery Second Round

Equestrian Events Ltd in Chelmsford Essex held the Equissage Discovery Second round last weekend where thirty eight starters competed for the two Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival qualifying tickets. Steven Fazakerley built a testing course that saw only seven combinations jump double clear and make it into the final jump off. Drawn first to go Emily Mason from Gravesend, Kent knew she had to put the pressure on the remaining competitors. Twenty year old Emily was riding her mother’s (Shirley) five year old bay gelding Shovern Flute. This combination put in an outstanding time of 42.10 seconds but unfortunately lowered one pole to come home with four faults.

With only one left to go there were no clears and Emily was hanging on to the lead, but the final competitor, twenty one year Steffanie Bentley knew she only had to jump clear to take the win. Ashford based Steffanie was riding her mother’s (Debra) six year old chestnut gelding Ultimatum II who jumped a well calculated clear round in a time of 48.25 seconds to take the win.

The above two combinations both qualify for the Equissage Discovery final, to be held at The Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival 2011 from Sunday 28th August to Saturday 3rd September at Stafford County Showground.
