Nick Skelton

Nick Skelton is one of the worlds leading show jumping riders with a career that has lasted over 30 years winning over £4m in prize money and nearly 1,500 classes. Nick Skelton began his riding career as a show jumper with legendary showjumping trainers Ted and Liz Edgar’s at there competition and training yard.

Over the years Nick Skelton has had many legendary horses including Maybe, If Ever, Apollo and St. James he have all helped in maintain his position as a leading rider and winning him numerous top prizes back in the 1980’s, including winning the Hickstead Derby three times! Those successes were followed by a host of victories with other horses who all kept him in the spotlight: Major Wager, Top Gun, Grand Slam, Phoenix Park, Dollar Girl, Limited Edition, Showtime, Tinka’s Boy and Hopes are High.

in 2001 Nick Skeltona suffered a serious fall at Park Gate horse show in Cheshire which resulted in a near fatal neck iinjury nerly ended his carrier but after a long road to recovery Nick Skelton is again at the top of the sport cis current competition horses include Arko III and Russel are owned by John and Lisa Hales. Arko III is already a legend in his own lifetime having competed in the Athens Olympics in 2004. Russel has also turned out to be absolutely top class. Both Russel and Arko have won major Grand Prix’s all over the world.
