The Lady Joseph Trust is delighted to announce that a recent fundraising cocktail party at the Cavalry and Guards Club raised over £27,000 for the charity. €2 billion Chinese horse project aided by Ireland
Ireland have been chosen to help China establish its first national equine facility at Tianjin in the first major step toward a Chinese horse-breeding industry. The huge equestrian facility will have 4000 horse stalls, offices for 150 trainers, five training tracks, and two race tracks of international standard, including grandstands and clubhouses.The deal is thought to generate up to €40 million in exports over the next three years for Ireland. One of the horses, identified as a former thoroughbred racehorse, went into the care of Florida TRAC - Thoroughbred Retirement and Adoptive Care.The other 10 were taken in by the South Florida SPCA. The animals were found around noon on Sunday along Southwest 205th Avenue between 136th and 154th streets.
Efforts are under way to establish ownership of the horses.

12 Australian Horses Dead of Unknown Cause
Twelve horses residing in a pasture in the Kooralbyn area of Queensland, Australia, are dead, but the cause of death remains unknown, according to an Oct. 7 press release from Biosecurity Queensland. Of the 12, seven horses died and five were euthanized. The press release indicated that although authorities initially suspected hendra virus as the cause of death when investigating the scene yesterday (Oct. 6), tests have confirmed that none of the deceased horses were infected by the virus.Queensland Chief Veterinary Officer Rick Symons, BVSc, MBA, PhD, said Biosecurity Queensland would perform postmortems on the horses to try and determine what made them fatally sick so rapidly.
