Armstrong

Armstrong, who is the son of the Holsteiner prime sire Ramiro Z, whose breeding value is expressed by his sixth place in the jumping index and whose capacities have been clear from the start. Ramiro Z was a very successful jumper himself under Fritz Ligges and produced a great number of Approved stallions, both in The Netherlands and abroad. In addition, many of Ramiro children are performing at the highest sport level. To mention a few

• Fatiniza {later known as Donau}, Rooney, Ramiros Girl, Almox Rosella and Ramzes, who went to the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

• Armstrongs dam is Terma. She has already acquired fame as the dam of the Approved stallion Faram.

• In the lineage of both stallions we find the Rigoletto daughter of Derma, who is grand dam of Faram and great-grand dam of Armstrong. Derma is also a daughter of the near legendary Ginerca, who was declared "Prestatie" mare in 1984. At the age of 17, she had already produced 15 foals and she passed her fertility on to her children. A full brother to Armstrong is the Oldenburg Approved stallion, Rolando, who was the 1987 5 year old Reserve Champion. Armstrong passed his 100 Days Performance Testing in 1985. His walk has sufficient roominess, his trot is rhythmical and he has a full canter, powered by well applied hindquarters. The jury greatly appreciated Armstrongs jumping capacities -under saddle he received a 9, for free jumping even 9.5. He was described as a very talented stallion both in dressage and showjumping. Making promise come true, he subsequently jumped 13 clear rounds in the 1986-87 Stallion Jumping Competition Category A and is meanwhile jumping at Z-level.

• In 1987 Armstrong showed his first offspring, a collection of well developed foals, promising to become good sport horses with hard legs. Armstrong prows to strongly improve the neck-line. Without exception, his foals showed correct fore and hind legs, which they applied well in their striding walk and roomy trot. His first offspring is already successful in the\ sport.
