Chellano Z is, like Canabis Z, a son of the Calypso II son of Contender, who already produced more than a hundred showjumping horses and 30 licensed sons. Dam of Chellano Z, Fayence, is from Holstein lineage 6879 and is the full sister of the stallions Corrado I and Corrado I I. San Patrignano Corrado I won Grand Prix under Franke Sloothaak {Leeuwarden, Dortmund, Aarhus}, Corrado II, born in 1992, licensed in 1994, is still to young tob e able to boast of a list of GP offspring. Grandam of Chellano Z, Soleil, is a well-known name in Holstein breeding. She is a daughter of Capitol I, the sire of the famous stallions Carthago Z, Dobel’s Cento, Cassini I and Capril. Via Maestosse xx and jumping horse producer Frivol xx, the dam´s line goes back to the mare Coriane (Fanal x Heinzelmann} from lineage 6879.
This Coriane had two sisters in Baden and Original Holsatia who performed very successfully in the sport at the time. Baden started at the Helsinki Olympics, Original Holsatia collected many victories in the international showjumping arena under Fritz Tiedemann. Lineage 6879 also produced the celebrities Landlord (Landgraf I}, very successful under Ludger Beerbaum, and Lausbub (Landgraf I}, who won the Hamburg Derby under Achaz von Buchwaldt. Chellano Z himself finished at the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses 2002 as a 7-yr-old in third place; in 2001 he had been fourth as a 6-yr-old in the same event. His offspring are still too young to be placed in official showjumping events, but in competitions for young horses, such as free jumping, they already excel their contemporaries.
