Axis

Axis and his rider Terhi Stegars celebrated a spate of victories in advanced dressage competitions.

Origin: His sire, Sixtus, was the runner-up of the Trakehner licensing in 1991. He did extremely well in stallion performance test, receiving a high jumping index. From 1995 to 1998, he competed in show jumping, achieving four wins and 50 platings in advanced (S) level jumping tests. 13 of his sons have been licensed for breeding, including Kasparow, who became stallion performance test winner and Trakehner Riding Horse Champion, Skatman, who was the runner-up of his licensing and bronze medal winner at the Bundeschampionat for eventing horses, Couracius, who became the runner-up of his licensing, the Premium Stallion Donauwalzer, the successful S dressage stallion Peron Junior and, above all, Buddenbrock, who has an impressive breeding record. Buddenbrock has presented nine licensed sons so far, among them the Champion Stallions King Arthur and In Flagranti, and numerous mares who became Champion or Reserve Champion at their broodmare registrations, 13 State Premium Mares and various S level horses for all disciplines. On account of his sporting successes and the quality of his progeny, he was classified as Trakehner Elite Stallion. The dam, Akansas, is a daughter of Angard, who has been stationed at the Zwiefalten Station in Hesse from the very beginning of his career. Angard is a dressage-oriented stallion, who has produced seven licensed sons, including the successful S level dressage stallions Isgard (private stallion FRA) and Avancier (private stallion Hesse) and the Hessian licensing winner Almaz. The earlier generations of Axis' pedigree include the well-known Trakehner sires Herzbube, Istanbul and Kurfurst. Axis' dam line goes back to the mare Alwina, who was born at the Principal Stud of Trakehnen. It brought forth the approved stallions Alaskatraum, Amarant, Arthus, Arminius, Auftakt and Artistic Rock. This line spread from the Webelsgrund Stud on and was disseminated through various other breeding farms.

Performance record: Axis was approved for breeding in Neumilnster in 2001, receiving the highest jumping score of his approval age class. In 2002, he completed the performance test in Neustadt/Dosse in performance class I, presenting himself as a multi-talented young stallion. He has been trained in dressage up to the advanced class.

Breeding record: Axis initially covered as a leased stallion at the Brandenburg State Stud in Neustadt/Dosse. His first crop of foals brought forth Hirtentanz (Premium Stallion of the Trakehner licensing in 2005 and at the same time the best jumper stallion of his licensing). His second licensed son, Ballzauber, stems from his second crop. His breeding record also includes the Premium Mare Herzluna. From 2004 to 2006, Axis was on stud duty in Great Britain.
